  Just spoke Duane Detlor to get a quote on two cars only. Immediately everything he emailed quoted me was a group package and claims its cheaper. What? If I don't have something, why would I get a discount to insure something that I don't have? Why am I penalized for owning less which would make me less of a risk making a future claims. Hmm! I wanted the same policy that I currently have with my current Insurance Company. He started getting cocky loud when he wanted way too much private information about where I live and who I live with, even though I told him they will not be driving my car, he didn't care. Those were his exact words! He escalated his voice even higher when I told him that I can't provide that information. His voice started escalating even higher yet, when I tried to yell over his yelling to the point that he lost my business before I even got started. Are all insurance companies going to be this painful? It's like pulling teeth to talk to an insurance agent I can trust. So far he tricked me with the quotes to further inquire, so that I would be disappointed to know I would be paying higher then what he originally quoted . So far this was my first phone call to an agency since I changed insurance companies back in 2008. I remember how pleasant my current agency was to talk too and put me at ease. Not Detlor! It's only become worse these days as most insurance companies are greedy and have the Michigan Laws backing them up requiring motorist to be insured. If you have the patience to go with Detlor, God help you! Get a hammer to break open your rainy day funds. They will be taking it from you! My Rebuttal from the response below goes as this. At least Detlor is honest that it is truly painful with every insurance agency you try to get a quote from and how they pry into your personal life to find excuses to raise the cost of the original quote. That is why Marketing goofy commercials is the trend these days to draw in customers when in fact none of the commercials have anything to do with getting an honest quote from an insurance agency you can trust. In the end, the claims you make will not be covered and all they do is take your money while keeping claims held up in court for years! One more note for all you consumers. If your insurance company doesn't pay up, take the guy who caused the accident to small claims. A Judge ruled in my favor under Tort Law for the Defendant to pay up to $1,000 within 21 days of his ruling in my favor. All week prior to the court hearing, his insurance claims guy was threatening me that it's a Michigan No Fault State and I can't take him to court. Boy was he disappointed in the end! For once! I decided not to take the law into my own hands, but I did take his customer to court and won! So many loop holes in today's Car Insurance Industry and Money Cows they created in the State of Michigan, putting a burden on us poor folks just trying to keep the extra money in our pocket to feed our kid and put gas in the car to go to work! You can do it on your own. Don't let claims adjusters, agents intimidate you! The Judges usually know how dishonest they already are! Have A Nice Day!
